Moonraker worked with production partner NGX and LA based Official to deliver a cultural piece for the Sheikh Zayed grand mosque in Abu Dhabi.
The 5 minute animation that spans a large part of the gallery is for their new visitor centre and shows the history of the United Arab Emirates and the legacy of Sheikh Zayed who created the UAE, interwoven with history of Islam and the wonder of the universe. Each chapter is framed within a ‘celestial landscape’ framed by a point of light motif, highlighting the connection between sand and stars.
The configuration was split into 7 panels and projected onto a feature wall. The piece integrates a rich tapestry of archival footage with subtly animating golden astrolabe rings, stills, quotes and text elements.
