Finance Assistant


 Fixed term contract to September 2025. 24 – 30 hours pw.

We are looking for a Finance Assistant for the business to support our financial processing, reporting directly to the Finance Director. The role requires a good communicator who is organised, numerate, motivated, able to take the initiative, and is calm under pressure. Suitable for an experienced candidate who is interested in a part time role, or a trainee who wishes to combine work with time for study.

RESPONSIBILITIES
• Ensuring that supplier payments, staff expenses, foreign currency and intercompany recharges are processed in a timely and accurate manner, in accordance with UK GAAP, VAT legislation and the company’s internal financial controls • Monthly freelancer invoice tracking • Processing payments • Reconciling supplier statements, setting up new supplier & customer accounts • Completing weekly bank reconciliations for multiple accounts in various currencies • Support raising sales invoices and credit control in the FD’s absence • Regular monitoring of timesheet completeness and accuracy in the production management system • Complete monthly VAT returns for FD review • Support month end processes, posting journals and balance sheet reconciliations • Support the implementation of a new finance system where necessary • Deal with operational issues, finding practical solutions and escalating problems where appropriate • Maintaining the shared finance email inbox • Ad hoc operational support

EXPERIENCE
The ideal candidate should be capable of demonstrating the following: • At least 5 GSCE grade C / 5 or above, or equivalent qualifications • Holds, or is working towards AAT or similar qualification • Excel skills to intermediate level • A good understanding of bookkeeping and accountancy • Experience of standard accounting packages (such as Xero) • Highly numerate with an excellent attention to detail • Good organisational skills and excellent time management skills

SALARY AND BENEFITS
• 24 – 30 hours per week. We can be flexible with suitable hours / days.
• Competitive salary dependent on experience (pro-rated for hours worked)

Design Internship

We are calling out for a hungry, ambitious and fiercely creative design intern who will join our award-winning VFX studio in central Bristol for a 3-month paid internship. The successful candidate will excite us by their raw, unadulterated talent. We do not expect the finished article but we would like you to have some familiarity with key software. The inaugural Moonraker Design Internship will provide fantastic exposure and real world learning in what is a very competitive industry. Working under the supervision of our Art Director across a broad range of projects in the broadcast and immersive spheres.
