With over sixty tombs, the Valley of the Kings is the most famous burial ground on Earth. In the biggest Egyptian excavation ever, Zahi Hawass and a team of archaeologists head into the Western Valley to hunt for evidence of an undiscovered tomb.
Produced for Discovery+ with Atland Productions, Moonraker spent weeks on location supervising a vast drone photogrammetry survey in Egypt over many square kilometres of the Valley of the Kings to produce perfect reconstructions of the Valley and the underlying terrain that gave clues to and located the sites of some of the tombs. Overlaying water simulations on top of the photoreal model, Moonraker brought to life the history of the area and how the tomb’s discoveries were made.
